Welcome to Tasty Tuesday #1. An Italian Job
As a full-fledged supply intern for almost a month now, I’ve been realizing that the non-profit space is driven by the passion and the hunger of its workers. The supply is no different. The enormous amount of food that Eddo and Shawn put away in one sitting is frightening, and has continued to send a brisk chill up my spine every time they lick a bowl clean, or spit out the bones of a previously handsomely plump chicken. When they have their hands on some grub, nothing, not even death nor their mothers can rip them from what they feel is rightfully theirs. Here at the office, we refer to noon as the feeding. Full stomachs, clear heads, build a school in Kenya. LET’S GO.
So every tuesday we will be highlighting thesupply’s diet. Spotlighting the lighter moments that make up the slow lunch hours sandwiched between the hectic pace of a non-profit. Tuesday is an ode to the food that keeps us going, so we can push everyday for these kids in Lenana.
