Meet and Greet - SHAWN LEE
HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY, EVERYONE! On this special day of celebration, we’ll be MEETING and GREETING our Movement Coordinator, SHAWN LEE!
If you look at most of our past videos (shameless plug-in HEHE: http://www.youtube.com/user/thesupplyedu), you’ll hear a distinctive and consistent phrase, especially if there’s dancing involved. Didn’t catch it yet? That’s right…”AWWW YEAAA~” Whether it’s in Kenya, in our Jersey office, at church, with friends, or even with strangers, Shawn has pure joy that’s truly contagious.
When we were shooting our last video, our three staff members had to take turns speaking. It was incredible how three guys with the same desires for one organization could be so different. But if we could peg one word for Shawn, it would be passion. This passion could be seen in the long hours he spends editing all the videos, constantly planning events and collaborations, and brainstorming new and exciting ideas. His passion shows even if he doesn’t say a word, but his huge vision is what amplifies it.
Shawn is one great example of being “blessed to be a blessing”, but in a very special way: from his time spent in Africa, he was touched and inspired by unadulterated happiness and simplicity among hardships and struggles. He brought this inspiration back to the States, to his friends, family, and strangers, and became the inspiration himself. It’s awesome to see someone as young as he, fully committed and wholeheartedly fighting for something he believes in. We, as interns, are learning about the battles of non-profit work, but the full weight of it falls on Shawn, Eddo, and John. Yet, the immense support we see Shawn receive from his friends and family shows us a glimpse of what a blessing he is in the love and lives that surround him.
Now, on another note, we’ve been seeing and hearing a lot of comments on Shawn’s “good looks”. What kind of interns would we be not to use this to help our organization? So we were thinking…Shawn Auction…! AWWW YEAAA~
That, or a ticketed Shawn vs. Eddo eating contest. heheh~
