HEY EVERYONE!

Today is our last Throwback Thursday of the summer! Let’s journey back to January of this year, when Eddo and Shawn came back from Lenana, Kenya with amazing footage, big smiles, and hope from the students, teachers, and community that fills the office space to this very day.

As a noob to the Throwback Thursday category, I decided that the best thing to do would be to look through the plentiful video archive of The Supply. There were videos of events, campaigns, announcements, the works. But then there was this one video, with a simple enough title, LENANA VILLAGE, that reminded me of the sole reason for it all.

When we’re counting donations, thinking of campaign ideas, and organizing events, it’s easy to get caught up in the moment and think of this work as…well, work. Beliefs become responsibilities, and responsibilities become tasks. But seeing one of those many smiling faces of the students that is the future of the Lenanan community let the warmth and reality of hope flood back in.

There’s never just one day a week that we should throw it back to a memorable time. And as much as I’d like to say that this is to ensure the safety and constancy of THROWBACK THURSDAYS, Thursdays aren’t the only days that deserve a second of reflection and thanksgiving. To us interns, it’s not just encouraging, but beautiful, to see how far The Supply has come. With the hard work and undying fervor that our staff members, the biggest visionaries I know, have put in, people have been touched and convicted. Strangers have been encouraged. Children have been given hope. A school is being built in a slum village.

So, all of you who read this, you are a part of The Supply’s team. Throw it back every now and then, and think about how far you’ve come as a student or professional, a brother or sister, a son or daughter, a friend, and a leader. Throw it back, and then get excited for all the amazing things, whether they may seem good or bad in the moment, that are to come. Who knows what beautiful things will happen? =))

See y’all tomorrow, THE LAST DAY IN THE OFFICE… =(
Until then, though, HAVE A WONDERFUL, REFLECTIVE THURSDAY!
May THROWBACKS live on forever!
