We will be taking these cards and giving them during our trip in January. Be sure to write your name and email on the back of the card so we can email you back with a picture of your card being given to one of the students.

Background:
Last November, the Standard 8 class of Dagoretti Youth School in the slum of Lenana, Kenya had an opportunity to take the KCPE Primary National Examination. Unfortunately, the head teacher ran away with the registration money, and all 31 students were disqualified. For all of these students, this was the pinnacle of their educational careers because there is no secondary school available for them. After hearing this heartbreaking story, The Supply has decided to build Lenana’s first ever secondary school. As the students make the financial sacrifices to re-take this test, we want to provide them with an opportunity to continue their education and fulfill their dreams.

We want you to join us in helping us launch this week-long campaign to finish fundraising for the secondary school and to be the supply to the large demand for education that exists in Lenana.

THROWBACK THURSDAY #1

I was originally going to take this in an entirely different direction: throwback jerseys, fanny packs, 90’s boybands, and Tamagotchis (Is this how you spell it? You know those digital animals you have to keep alive on that game boy looking thing.) But as I was shuffling through our video archives, I rediscovered my favorite video OF ALL TIME. 

MEET JEFF is a profile on the funniest kid at DYC Primary School. Crowned as the Class Clown at age 11, Jeff is apparently a pretty good dancer and also the first to raise his hand for every question. With his patented “Jeff” swag dance, a combination of a shuffle step and a side to side clap, Jeff is a performer, entertainer, and student with a smile that outshines the slums every single day.
